Certain components have extremely precise critical ID dimensions like roundness, straightness, taper, diameter, & surface finish. These components wear during use, but the surfaces can be restored by removing material and going a small amount oversized…..if proper dimensional control is achieved. 

 

Lifecycle specialties has developed a process to hone non-symmetrical EUI Bodies, restoring the ID features of the bore to “better than new” dimensional control with a roundness specification at 0.55 µ.  Now that the process is developed, it will open new possibilities for other precision bore salvages.
